How long does Swelling / Bruising Last?
We try our very best to avoid this, but swelling and bruising does happen. The degree depends on your skin type and and the area treated. Typically swelling and bruising will resolve within 7-10 days.
What can I do to reduce bruising?
There are a few things! Unless medically necessary, you can avoid blood thinning medications such as asprin & ibuprofen the week before your appointment. Alcohol and caffeine are also blood thinners, you can refrain from consuming these for three days prior to your treatment. You can use natural bruising and swelling aids like arnica, on the day of your procedure and for several days afterwards.
How many units/vials/syringes will i need?
The amount of product needed varies from patient to patient depending on the area to be treated, your facial anatomy, muscle strength etc. You will be able to discuss this with your practitioner during your consultation.
How soon will I see results?
Some results, like dermal fillers are immediate, while others, like neuromodulators take up to 2 weeks for full effect. We recommend waiting the full 2 weeks before booking a touch up, if needed.
How long will my results last?
This varies from patient to patient depending on the area to be treated, your facial anatomy, muscle strength, and the type of treatment you receive. Often results are cumulative with continued treatment. You will be able to discuss this with your practitioner during your consultation. Generally, neuromodulators like botox or dysport last between 3-6 months while dermal fillers last from 6-12 months.
Can I receive treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
There are some treatments that can be performed, such as the acupuncture facial or microneedling without numbing cream, however we strongly recommend consulting with your OBGYN first.
